A weary Link gazes out over the vast landscape of Hyrule, having completed his epic adventure. A familiar cast of characters can be spotted going about their business. Bug-catching kid runs through the streets of Kakariko chasing a butterfly. A blue knight is asleep on the job. The witch and her assistant pick ingredients for brewing potions. And many other easter eggs to discover...

I had the idea to create a landscape like this for A Link to the Past about 15 years ago (the sketch can be seen in the last image). Two years ago I felt that I finally had the time, ability, and right methodology to see the project through. Working off and on when time allowed I finally was able to finish the piece and I’m happy with how it turned out and proud of the effort that went into it.

Beating A Link to the Past all by myself was an early moment of pride (years after accidentally erasing my older brother’s save file 😅) and as I know many others out there do, I have deeply nostalgic feelings tied to this game. I poured all of my love for this game into this piece, and I hope it brings you some of the same good feelings as it does for me when I reminisce on this epic adventure.
